I will still be writing in this blog of course! Below is the last enews I sent out earlier this week.  Not on our enews list?  Come on, don't miss out. Go HERE to sign up for our BHCC NEWS!

Here's this weeks Enews:

Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
   and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

Hi Friends!

Can you believe it?  One week from today is THANKSGIVING!!! And four weeks and one day after that is CHRISTMAS!!! Wow!

Are we going to get stressed out about the Holidays?  NOOOO Waaayyyy!!!!

Let's just make that decision right here and now!  I have a sure-fire way to make certain the upcoming holidays don't get you down and stressed out.  It's just this simple:  Make the choice right now that God is going to be your center and focus for the next 5 weeks! It really is a choice friends. Our attitude is the one thing we definitely have a choice about.

So together, let's choose to keep Christ at the center of Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Let's not get caught up in all the secular trappings of the devil, making these holidays all about money, materialism and problems.  Let's choose to keep it simple and keep our priorities of following God first and foremost!

It starts with having a grateful heart to God.  Let's cultivate (choose) an attitude of gratitude throughout the next 40 days.  Everytime you find yourself stressing about stuff, make yourself STOP and instead say a prayer to God and thank Him for something or someone in your life! In doing so you'll be fulfilling the words of this scripture:

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Make it your task to memorize that scripture and repeat it every time you start to feel stressed!

We can trust God in every circumstance and situation, but you must understand, it's always a choice on our part!  Let's CHOOSE to be thankful for the next 40 days and let God's light shine through us as an example and encouragement to others!

Well, I am sooo excited about all that God is doing in and through BHCC recently!  He has been so powerfully present at our Sunday worship services that we are all in awe! We have had many new visitors and many people either commit their lives to Christ for the first time or take a deeper step in their committment.  We have had many, many answered prayers! God LOVES BHCC!!! :-)

TONIGHT is the Wed. night Bible study led by Pastor Lin at the Mosaic Campus from 7-8:30pm.  We are studying the book of John and will be looking at chapters 8 and 9 tonight.  Bring a bible or we will provide one for you but please do join us TONIGHT and grow closer to the Lord!

The Young Adult group does not meet this week but will again meet next week.

The Women's Nano group will meet Thursday night at the Mosaic Campus at 7pm and will be led by Pam Malone this week.  Even if you've not come before, feel free to join us!!!

This Friday evening the OUTLET will be OPEN at the Mosaic Cafe with LIVE music! Why not come out and support this awesome ministry?  You will make new friends and have a wonderful evening out!  Open from 7:30-11:00pm.

We are having our annual Christmas party w/ dinner at the Mosaic Cafe on Sunday, Dec. 12th from 4-7pm. Attendance is mandatory. :-)  Sign up sheet available this Sunday.

BHCC has decided to 'adopt' several local families with kids in need to buy Christmas presents for. We are very excited about being a part of showing our love in action during the season of love.  Starting this Sunday, we will have an angel tree available for all of you.  On this tree are angel ornaments with a gift request on the back of it for each child.

You can simply choose one of the angels and take it with you, buy the present, wrap it up, attach your angel ornament to the gift and bring it to our Christmas party on Dec. 12th.  The Outreach Team will deliver the gifts to families that week! Trust me, there will be many tears of joy from the receivers! (And God will bless you beyond belief! It feels so good to give, REALLY!)

We will be having a candlelit Christmas Eve service with communion on Friday Dec. 24th from 5:30-6:30pm at the Mosaic Cafe (2481 Browncroft Blvd 14625).  We are working on a couple cool suprises for this evening as well so it will be incredibly special and we promise to end promptly at 6:30 for those of you who have other committments.  We're hoping this time frame will make it so more people can attend.  Children are welcome! Come early and fellowship if you can!

Remember, you can bring in personal items to donate to the HOPE HOUSE every Sunday Service for the next 4 weeks. Especially looking for items such as deoderant, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream, body wash, and any other personal items you can think of. The HOPE HOUSE in Webster tells us there is a very great need right in our area and they need personal items more than anything.  This is a great way for us to follow Jesus' command to love our neighbors.  It is one way that we put our faith into action!

I can't thank you enough for all the ways you show your support to this church. Please know how GREATLY you are loved and appreciated.  If you have any prayer requests, please email Pam@blessedhopecc.org.

Love in Christ our Lord,
Pastor Lin :-)

PS:  Remember, 40 days of thanking God and counting our blessings will help keep Jesus as the reason for the season!
