Ready for Adventure!

By Pastor John on 8/4/2009

After a couple months of searching, we finally chose a vehicle--a Nissan Xterra. I started off looking at Sentras only to decide that they were too small. Jen and I wanted something a little bigger. Then we began looking at Altimas... still not big enough. Finally we settled on an SUV. Roof racks, hitch, 4x4, ready for camping!

If I wasn't already indecisive enough, my economics minor and finance classes ruined me. The level of economic analysis that goes through my mind when looking for a vehicle is crazy. Depreciation, cost benefit analysis, true cost to own, net present value, future present value, etc. Most people make decisions emotionally. But I also have to say, there was a lot of prayer involved.

I believe God cares about our everyday lives. He cares about the tangible. He's just as interested in our safety on the road on the road as we are, and He wants us to find something we will enjoy.

Although this vehicle isn't brand new, it's new to us. We bought it from a Christian car salesman who prayed with us as we were making a decision.

It's also nice to know that we're ready for winter!
