Church at the Movies!

By Pastor John on 3/28/2007

This Sunday will be Blessed Hope’s first time at LOEWS THEATRES.  While “church at the movies” can sound like an oxymoron, a movie theater is actually very accommodating to a post-modern church like Blessed Hope.

First of all, it’s time that churches stop expecting the world to come to them and it’s time for churches to go to the people.  Many people don’t feel comfortable walking into a church for the first time—but walking into a movie theater that they were just at last Friday night for a movie—that is their environment.

Second, we are media-driven.  The old church used stained glass to tell the gospel stories.  The screen is our stained glass.  Starting this Sunday, Blessed Hope will be switching to High Definition widescreen.  HD will significantly enhance the worship by allowing more space for lyrics and visual illustrations.

Acoustics.  Theaters are built for BIG sound.

Parking… could there possibly be more?

Handicap accessibility… got it.

Location—Loews Theatres is a landmark for directions to just about any place in Webster.  Everyone knows where the movie theater is.  Everybody drives by it all the time.

Seating—comfortable theater seating.  Sit back, relax and enjoy!

These are just a few of the many benefits to having church at the movies.  Join us this Sunday and experience “Church at the Movies!”
