Grilled Chocolate Chip Pancakes

By Pastor John on 6/30/2007

Tonight I tried something different.  I was in the mood for grilling but also in the mood for pancakes.  Additionally, I've be searching for a way to make my pancakes crispier.  Adding extra butter to the pan helps but is not very healthy.

I began by cooking the pancakes in a frying pan as you normally would.  However, I only cooked each side long enough to give the cake some level of stability to withstand the pressure within the grill.  Then I threw the pancakes on the grill for about 30 second per side.  The final product was fabulous.

Is this just a random blog entry?  No, it's not.  Theres a very deep spritual truth here.  Sometimes seemingly unrelated things go together extremely well--so well that the final product can excel beyond it's components.  You've probably been to church before and you've probably been to movies before but perhaps "church at the movies" isn't gelling so well in your mind right now.  But if you like contemporary church, rockin music and visual effects, you might just like church at the movies!  The church needs to be progressive, it needs to constantly seek out new ideas to better serve the community.

P.S. The plate show above is a plate I designed myself in 1992.  It's a design inspired by space exploration.
