The Journey with God...........and BHCC!

Sat., April 19th will be our official 'moving day' for our church offices & the Mosaic Cafe.  Yesterday, I was sitting in my new (Still empty) office trying to absorb the fact that our church is again in the process of 'morphing.'

I was thinking that it was only a little over a year ago that our offices were located in the village of Webster.  We felt like a very different church back then!  So much has happened in that time at BHCC and I find myself continually amazed at how God continues to grow and shape His church at BHCC.

It seems like my biggest job as the founding senior pastor is to continue to both stay out of God's way & try to keep up with His plans all at the same time.  It's absolutely fascinating to see Him shape and mold us like a Potter and His clay.

I wish everyone could see God at work from my angle.  One of the greatest blessings of fulfilling my role in all this is simply that I get to see SO MUCH of God at work all the time! I often feel like a servant who is continually running after her Master---doing everything to simply try and stay with Him & take in all that He is doing!

The church family is truly an organic entity  that keeps shifting and changing and exuding this incredible life all its own!  I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't get to experience observing something as fascinating as this! 

Sometimes I know I get caught up in the details and forget to truly enjoy the journey!  And as I continue to grow spiritually, I find that I really do love the fact that I am so not in control of all of it & that in many ways, I am simply an observer of all that God is doing---just along for this incredible ride with God!

God continues to 'morph' His church & people at BHCC.

In Biology, the term metamorphisis means a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism, as from the caterpillar to the pupa and from the pupa to the adult butterfly.

Our church is still a brand new life in many ways.  We are a little over five years old and we are continually being morphed into something bigger & stronger & more beautiful.  We are beautiful because we are really a life that God is creating.  He waters us, feeds us, prunes us & shapes us into His incredible creation.

He continually makes it clear that He is the One in control & leading this church.  This new office was totally led by His hands & in every way, we had absolutely nothing to do with it.  It's such an incredible gift and an unforseen move in our journey together.  I'm just in complete awe of seeing Him at work!  How my heart continually aches for more people to see & know the power of God that I've been BLESSED to see!

Yesterday was my birthday.  My Mom called me in the morning to wish me happy birthday.  She just had yet another pet scan & the results were even better than her last one three months ago.  In the logical sense, that's impossible!!!  Six months ago, she was in stage 4 lung cancer!  Six months ago, hospice was coming in 3 times a week!  I think of this & I am yet again absolutely AMAZED!  How great is our God?  Nothing is impossible for Him!

I was shocked when I first heard we had lost our lease on our current office location!  We weren't looking to upgrade our space as we had only been there for a year.  I was quite satisfied with the space we had.  But apparently, God wasn't!  He had a plan to give us a bigger, more wonderful space!

Following Christ is the most incredible adventure we could ever discover in this life.  I have found that the more I surrender to living for Him, the more He gives to me---more than I could ever hope, expect or dream about!  We give our lives to Him & He gives back more LIFE than we could have ever imagined!  It's just incredible!

My prayer for you as you read this is the same prayer that Paul prayed for the Ephesians:

Ephesians 3:14-
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
